Having worked as a Software Engineer for around 5 years, my motivation to change career was born out of my need for greater human interaction in the Software Development Process. My team, the Engineering Tools was always under pressure to hit a launch date to cater to the constantly changing customer demands. As a result, we were jumping into building products, losing sight of the user goals, and why features mattered. My search for answers to my software development woes is what led me to the field of UX design. I soon learned the solution to our problems - Anchoring users at the heart of the process from concept to launch.
My Engineering expertise and experience help when designing for feasibility and in bringing my vision as a designer to life. I aim to build products and create experiences that my users will actually enjoy using. I still very much like coding and problem-solving. Based on my past learning and as a UX designer, I now question whether I am solving the right problems and building the solutions right before typing out tasks and churning out code. I am adept at incorporating iterative design, agile practices and user-centered approach when working at the intersection of development and design.
